Getting Started
This page outlines the steps necessary to begin using the UConn Health HPC system.
1) Request an account
To begin using the HPC system, you will need to request an account. Visit the Account & Passwords page for instructions on how to request an account.
2) Reset you password
Once you have received your account information, you will need to reset your password. You will receive instructions on this in an email but can also visit the Account & Passwords page for instructions on how to reset your password.
3) Connecting
When you are ready to connect, see the Connecting to the HPC system page for instructions on connecting to the HPC system.
4) Understanding the file system and storage options.
Before running jobs, it is important to understand the file system and storage options available on the HPC system. See the Storage page for more information on storage options and best practices for using storage on the HPC system.
5) Learn how to use software.
A large number of software tools are available on the HPC system. See the Software page for information on how to find and use software on the HPC system.
6) Learn how to submit jobs.
It is important that you not run any computationally intensive commands or processes on the login nodes. Instead, you must submit jobs to the compute nodes using the job scheduler. See the Running Jobs page for instructions on how to submit jobs to compute nodes.
